1. General Information

The Captain’s Bar operates from the Ice House on Rock-a-Nore Road in Hastings, East Sussex.)

We offer a relaxed bar experience with our Coastal Christmas Sharing Boards served Friday to Sunday.

Your booking or enquiry through Facebook, by phone, or in person confirms your acceptance of these terms.

2. Bookings & Payments

• Guests can book by sending us a direct message on Facebook or by calling 07756 258739 or 01424 446475.

• We hold the table for you on trust — no advance payment is taken.

• Full payment for food and drinks is taken when you are here, before you leave.

• We may ask for a small security deposit for very large groups or peak dates.

• We reserve the right to refuse entry or service if booking details cannot be confirmed.

3. Dietary Requirements

We aim to accommodate dietary needs wherever possible.

Please let us know any allergies when you book or when you arrive.

We take care with all food handling, but cross-contamination risks cannot be completely eliminated.

4. Arrival & Table Times

• Please arrive at the time agreed when booking.

• If you are running late, please call us and we will do our best to hold your table.

• If we have not heard from you, your table may be released after 20 minutes during peak hours.

• We cannot guarantee specific tables, but we will always try our best.

5. Cancellations

If you cannot make your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible.

There is no charge for cancelling, but giving us notice helps the kitchen manage stock and reduces food waste.

If we need to cancel a booking for any reason (for example staff illness or essential maintenance), we will contact you immediately.

6. Group Bookings & Private Hire

Groups of six or more are welcome.

For large tables or private hire, a deposit may be required depending on the date and size of the booking.

Deposits for private events are non-refundable.

7. Conduct & House Rules

We want everyone to enjoy their time with us.

Disruptive behaviour, aggression, or unsafe levels of intoxication may result in removal from the venue without refund.

Our team’s safety and wellbeing is important, and we ask all guests to treat staff with respect.

8. Accessibility

The venue is wheelchair accessible and includes an accessible toilet.

If you need any assistance on arrival, please let us know and we will be happy to help.

9. Alcohol Service

Alcohol is served only to guests aged 18 or over.

We may request ID at any time.

We promote responsible drinking and may refuse service if required under licensing laws.

10. Liability

The Captain’s Bar is not responsible for:

• Loss or damage to personal items

• Injuries caused by failure to follow staff guidance

• Missed bookings due to travel delays or unexpected events

We carry full public liability insurance.

11. Photography

Photos for personal use are welcome.

We may occasionally take venue photographs for promotional use. By being in the venue, you agree to incidental inclusion in background shots.
